B i o g r a p h y

 

    Rubén García was born in Zaragoza (1984). He finished his bachelor degree in the High Music School of Aragon (2006), and in the Conservatorium van Ámsterdam (2008) with teachers Cesar Peris, Lorenzo Ferrandiz, Jan Pustjens, Gustavo Gimeno, Nick Woud, Victor Oskam and Peter Prommel.

    He has taken part in many courses and master class with teachers Miquel Bernat, Arnold Marinissen, Raimond Curffs, Juanjo Guillem, Rainer Seegers, Georges Van Gucht, Philippe Spiesser, Gert Mortenssen, Bogdan Bacanu, Nancy Zeltzman, Wieland Wetzel, Frandz Schlindbeck, Jean Geoffroy, Andrew Barcklay, Simon Carrington…

    He has colaborated with several chamber music ensembles and orchestras, including DPZ Band, University Catholic Orchestra of Lovaina, Netherlands Philarmonic Orchestra,   Radio Kamer Philarmonie, Freixenet Orchestra, Bejinhof chamber orchestra, Ámsterdam Symphony Orchestra… He was member of the “Orchestre des Jeunes de la Medditerranée”, Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, World wind young orchestra, Young orchestra of Spain (JONDE)  and European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) .

    With all those orchestras and groups, Ruben have permormed in Europe, Asia and America, in several music festivals (BBC Proms, Robeco Zommer concerten, Rheingau Musik Festival, Expo Shanghai...) working with soloist Leonidas Kavakos, Philippe Gerard, Renaud CapuÇon, Natalia Guttman, Ivo Pogorelich, Nicolás Chumachenco, Ole Edvard Antonsen, Arcadi Volodos or Angelica Cathariou and conductors Sir Colin Davis, Herbert Blomstedt, Vladymir Ashkenazy, Andrew Litton, Philippe Gérard, Vasily Petrenco, George Pehlivanian, Arthur Arnold, Christian Lindberg or Roland Hayrabedian.

    He has been awarded with the scholarship of DPZ in 2006, the “young performers” competition in 2007 (Ibercaja and Gobierno de Aragon), and the BBVA foundation.

    Ruben collaborates as freelance percussion with Enigma Group (Chamber Orchestra of Zaragoza’s Auditorium) , Ceremonial Consort ensemble, “Tempo Giusto”, Orquesta Teatro de las Esquinas, Wind Orchestra Zaragoza, Goya Symphony Orchestra , Reino de Aragon orchestra and Lurte.

   As a teacher, he was principal teacher of percussion in Calahorra School of Music (2008), Conservatory of Music in Zaragoza (2008-2012, 2014-2017), Conservatory of Music in Huesca (2012-2014), Conservatory of music in Alcañiz (2018-2019) and Conservatory of music in Tarazona (2017-2018 and currently).
